Nothing whets the appetite more than smiling shrimp on a menu.
A baffling sign adorns the table.
It wasn't until the waiter came by, asked us what we needed and then flipped it back to the first sign that we realised it was this restuarant's unique way of calling for service.
Our drinks came. I had the Speckled Lemonade in Blueberry and the Cousin had the Alabama Sweet Smoothie. Both were refreshing and delicious. I liked the smoothie more because what's not to like with the decadent mixture of chocolate and peanut butter?
The Clam Chowder was on the side of alright but forgettable.
So was the mash potatoes. While it was smooth and comfort foody, there isn't anything particularly special about that made it stand out.
The presentation of the onion rings was totally impressive. I liked the crunch of it and the dipping sauces of Chipotle Ranch and BBQ complimented it well.
We ordered the Bucket of Boat Trash to share. While the name isn't exactly appetising, the food was. We got a good mixture of shrimp, lobster tail and fish fillet over a small bed of fries. All tasted fresh and well prepared. We never managed to finish the fries though.
The dipping sauces and the coleslaw. Not exactly the main idea of the meal.
What's life without dessert? And we ordered an aptly named 'That Chocolate Thing'. Looks like they weren't sure what it was and neither were we. Safe to say it was just full of chocolate, rich and decadent. I loved it despite feeling overwhelmed towards the end. Who wouldn't with dense chocolate cake (at least that's what I think it is) topped off with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream?
