I guess it was a Saturday and they were getting ready for a wedding dinner because things were very quiet there.
Bright shiny flatware.
I had never been much of a fan of Italian wines but I considered myself reformed. This was flavourful and slid down the throat smoothly.
Fresh bread that was replenished throughout the meal.
Seafood bisque served in a bread bowl. Bursting with flavour with a deep hint of alcohol, cognac I think.
White asparagus was the special of the month. When we asked the waiter what's the difference between white and green asparagus, we were horrified to be told: The colour. To be quiet honest while it tasted good, it wasn't any different with the green variety.
The lunch set came with the appetiser of chicken ham and a small side salad drizzled with balsamic vinegar. It's pretty basic.
Beef for the lunch set. Very well prepared with the exact doneness.
This was their award winning cod fish. Wonderfully juicy.
Another award winner of duck. I didn't like this so much as I found the duck pretty tough. It smells heavenly though.
Chicken Cordon Bleu. I didn't try this but I could see the cheese oozing out from the middle. Uncle had no complains at all.
The dessert for the set lunch. I wasn't really sure what this was. The closest I can describe it was a lemony mousse. Light and refreshing with just the right amount of tart to help digest a lovely meal.

Ooh, this place is members-only, rite? :D
ReplyDeleteSean: I asked my uncle. He said it's pretty much based on the staff there. Sometimes his friends who are not members are able to eat there, other times, no.
ReplyDeleteHe suggests you give them a call to confirm.
