Summer @ Quattro, Avenue K

We heard that the restaurant at Quattro was having a two for one deal. Having ate there once before, we were eager to try their tenderloin again. But we really wanted to try the mash potatoes it came with. It was probably the best I had ever had.

Our drinks came. Carrot juice and my cocktail, Mr K's Wet Dream. It's similar to a Sex on The Beach, but this being fruit punch with a drop (and I literally mean A DROP) of alcohol in the whole thing. Disappointing.

Our steaks came, mine with wedges and veggies. Guess what? The former chef has left and no more mash potato. Also this came as well done even after I stressed it to be 'medium rare'. Totally disappointing.

The Cousin went carb free and more veggies. Those little blobs are actually mushrooms but lo behold, canned.

All I can say is, while the food isn't exactly bad, it's not really something I would go out of my way to eat again.

El Meson @ Bangsar

We found a new pork filled place in Bangsar called El Meson and of course, it was definitely in for a try.

I've heard good things about this place and their affordable set lunches.

Bread and butter. Both fresh, both good.

X-rated On The Beach was my choice of drink. I didn't like it that much for the simple fact of the pineapple juice base it used.

Beef and pork balls meatballs in tomato sauce. Nice bite and lovely taste. This was the first course of the Executive Lunch Set. We chose the 3 set lunch course.

Classic minute steak. Simply delicious beef. Well prepared on a bed of chunky fries. 

The ultimate pork burger. And it truly is. Topped with cheese, mushroom, bacon and caramelized onions in a Sesame Bap, served with homemade fried potatoes. It was huge and juicy. So, so good.

The molten lava cake. Hiding inside the dark chocolate cake was lovely flowing chocolate. Heaven to the taste buds. The last course to our set lunch ended on a sweet and chocolatey note.
